Our History

In 1987, after school consolidations in Todd County, the Trenton Elementary School was closed. In order to save the facility and the gymnasium from the wrecking ball, the Trenton Men’s Club (which would later become the Trenton Civic Club) decided to purchase all buildings and grounds. In September, 1988, the Trenton Community Center, Inc. was formed as a 501(c)(3) charity, and is currently operated by a Board of Directors. The organization’s mission is to preserve, maintain and improve the old school, cafeteria and gymnasium facilities. Our goal currently is to raise money to improve our facilities in order to meet the demands of our growing community and assist with outreach for our community’s youth.
